Now in its sixth year, this free, family-friendly festival celebrates Grimsby’s proud maritime heritage and world-leading seafood industry, with a vibrant programme of entertainment, activities and food experiences.
Festival of the Sea was Highly Commended at the 2025 Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland Tourism Excellence Awards as “Festival of the Year”, as one of the region’s standout celebrations.
Visitors can look forward to a varied programme throughout the day, including:
- The chance to meet the crew from RNLI Cleethorpes and learn about their lifesaving work
- The Big Fish Family Quiz Show – fun, interactive entertainment for all ages
- Live seafood cooking demonstrations and tasters with the UK Seafood School
- A Main Stage programme of local musicians and sea shanty singalong
- A curated food and drink offer celebrating Grimsby’s connection to the sea
- Guided tours, street theatre and circus sensory workshops
Whether you’re a seafood lover, a music fan or looking for a fun day out with the family, Festival of the Sea offers something for everyone while celebrating the heritage and creativity that make Grimsby unique.
